Asbestos Survey
Do you require an Asbestos Survey? Longford Environmental has extensive experience of carrying out asbestos surveys in a wide range of environments and can help your organisation to fulfil its legal obligations in relation to asbestos management or preparing for demolition projects.
Previously referred to as Type 1 and Type 2 Asbestos Surveys, Asbestos Management surveys are undertaken to ascertain whether asbestos is present in a building, and involve taking samples of suspect materials and assessing the risk.
The results will determine the course of action to be taken to ensure your business complies with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Exposure to Asbestos) Regulations 2006 as amended by the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Exposure to Asbestos) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.
Type 3 Asbestos Surveys have also now been replaced by Asbestos Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys.
This type of survey is required prior to all major refurbishment or demolition work with the aim to locate all asbestos containing materials in the building. These can then be removed prior to other works beginning for the safety of all workers and to ensure you are legally compliant.
Longford Environmental has significant experience of providing asbestos surveys for demolition and refurbishment projects, as well as asbestos management surveys for commercial properties, schools, retail premises, factories, warehouses, chemical plants and public buildings.
The survey team have over 25 years’ experience in the asbestos surveying sector and are trained to BIOH P402/P405 standard.
On completion of the survey, Longford Environmental will make recommendations on the condition and risk of the asbestos materials found on site. These recommendations will form the basis of the Asbestos management plan for the site and will highlight actions that are required in the short and long term and will give the Duty Holder an idea of any remedial action that will be required.
